Kingston Technology adds i-Temp SSDs to its high-quality industrial lineup

Kingston Digital Inc, the flash memory division of Kingston Technology Company, a world leader in memory products and technology solutions, announced the development of its line of Industrial Temperature Solid State Drives (Industrial Temp) designed specifically for system integrators, system developers, and design engineers who require products that can withstand a wider range of operating temperatures for extreme environments. These SSDs are designed for devices such as self-service kiosks, digital signage robots, points of sale, military and agricultural applications, among others.

With support for SATA interfaces, the industrial SSDs will be available in capacities from 128 GB to 1 TB in industrial operating temperature ranges (-40°C to 85°C) for both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled environments. Kingston’s SATA i-Temp SSDs include 2.5-inch and M.2 2280 form factors to offer 6 Gbps SATA 3 controllers that automatically perform wear leveling, garbage collection, and other vital NAND Flash management functions. They also incorporate next-generation, high-speed 3D NAND Flash memory and are immediate replacements for HDDs, providing greater reliability and up to 20 times more performance.

All industrial-grade NAND and controller components are thoroughly evaluated to certify their operation. In addition, they are designed with specialized firmware to offer thermal management through regulation and, if necessary, shut down to help protect data. System developers and their end customers can feel protected thanks to lifecycle management, which includes a controlled bill of materials and a closed firmware code that ensures the SSD used in the first stage of their project is the same SSD they will acquire throughout the entire process. If required, product change and end-of-life notification support are also offered, as well as engineering resources and failure analysis.

“When you work with Kingston, you receive quality products and access to our team of experts for industry-leading technical support,” said Ariel Perez, SSD business manager at Kingston. “This product line is designed for manufacturers, and makes us a strategic ally. We are a partner, and that continues after the purchase to form a lasting business relationship based on trust and long-term success for both parties.”
