With color, you can convey feelings, moods, and more. But do you know how it works? Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Color is one of the most essential elements in daily life. It helps us communicate, express situations, emotions, joy, warmth, cold, sadness\u2014even our mood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-identity\">Identity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Colors give brands an <strong>identity<\/strong>, making them recognizable and distinct. Colors express what brands want to communicate to their clients and audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear examples: Coca-Cola, Google, and many more use color to transmit energy, passion, and joy. Their colors are so ingrained in consumers\u2019 minds that they\u2019re recognized anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/edteam-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs\/original\/e2c9bda5-5777-4aad-a6a8-cc38d1c01944.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-communication\">Communication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Colors can communicate without words. For example, at a traffic light, we know what each color means\u2014red: <strong>stop<\/strong>; yellow: <strong>slow down<\/strong>; green: <strong>go<\/strong>\u2014thanks to psychology and intuition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-color\">What is color?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>It\u2019s the visual perception of reflected light.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/edteam-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs\/original\/bae3436e-b8cc-4f2f-91ee-77283ab5e816.jpg\"><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Isaac Newton discovered that sunlight passing through a prism splits into colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-color-wheel\">The color wheel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Colors are arranged in a circle based on a central tone\u2014the basis for creating harmonious palettes.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/edteam-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs\/original\/aeb15bf0-ca55-4af7-bc5d-2907537553cf.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re divided into three groups (the third is a mix of the first two):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-primary-colors\">Primary colors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Red, yellow, and blue<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/edteam-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs\/original\/4b372032-8683-492e-924a-f9f5c61123cf.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-secondary-colors\">Secondary colors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Green, orange, and purple<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/edteam-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs\/original\/2cee1e6f-da3a-4e48-a583-e3d6e9fad3c0.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tertiary-colors\">Tertiary colors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Created by mixing primary and secondary colors, giving a wider range of combinations.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/edteam-media.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs\/original\/ebfbfa12-2c51-4158-91ee-2a77b4f85971.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-color-harmony\">Color harmony<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Set of color techniques to achieve balance<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Start with one color and build a harmonious palette.
