Kingston’s Server Premier DDR5 RDIMM Memory Receives Intel Validation

Kingston Technology Company, Inc., a world leader in memory products and technology solutions, announced today that its registered DIMM Server Premier DDR5 4800MT/s modules of 64 GB, 32 GB, and 16 GB have been validated for the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor.

For over 35 years, Kingston has been the trusted memory brand for leading server manufacturers and the world’s largest data centers. Server Premier is Kingston’s industry-standard memory solution, specifically sold for generic servers, validated on platforms, and certified by major motherboard and system manufacturers. With a controlled bill of materials (BOM) to provide consistent branding and revision of key components (including DRAM, register, PMIC, SPD hub, thermal sensors, and PCB), all Kingston server memory solutions are 100% tested and undergo a rigorous and dynamic evaluation process to correct potential failures before leaving the factory.

Server Premier features include:

  • Controlled BOM
  • 90-day part change notifications
  • 8Q roadmap visibility
  • Server platform validation
  • Certification from major server motherboard manufacturers
  • Limited lifetime warranty
  • Industry-leading service and support

The 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor is the first to support next-generation DDR5 memory for servers and features eight memory channels, distributed across up to two DIMMs per channel, or 16 DIMMs per CPU socket. With speeds of 4800 MT/s, each registered DDR5 DIMM delivers a maximum bandwidth of 38.4 GB/s, which, when grouped in multi-channel configurations, provides a marked performance increase over DDR4-based servers. DDR5 incorporates advanced features for a more reliable and efficient subsystem, including on-die ECC (ODECC), double the banks and burst length, enhanced refreshes, inclusion of a power management IC (PMIC), additional temperature sensors, decision feedback equalization (DFE), and two independent 32-bit subchannels (40 bits for ECC).

“We are pleased to announce the validation of our next-generation server memory parts on the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor,” said Mike Mohney, DRAM Technology Manager at Kingston. “Validation is always the first step for memory manufacturers to demonstrate the quality and compatibility of their memory solutions. DDR5 offers the technology to scale bandwidth and capacity to meet the performance requirements of tomorrow’s data centers.”
