Kingston Technology, the leading company in memory and storage solutions, adds two new hardware-encrypted Ironkey drives to its portfolio: Ironkey Keypad 200c and D500S.
Ironkey Keypad 200C

This is a USB Type-C drive encrypted by hardware that ensures security and convenience during use. Now, users can achieve seamless data protection and effortless compatibility without the use of adapters when using devices equipped with USB-C.
It offers FIPS 140-3 Level 3* certified military-grade security in an operating system-independent alphanumeric keypad for easy-to-use PIN access. It incorporates 256-bit XTS-AES hardware-based encryption with brute force password attack protection and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware, ensuring an unparalleled level of protection for valuable data. With the Multi-PIN option, the keypad can be used to set up an easy-to-remember alphanumeric PIN for administrator or user accounts. The administrator can restore a user PIN to provide access to the drive if the user PIN is forgotten.
Kingston IronKey Keypad 200C is available in capacities up to 256 GB and is backed by a 3-year warranty with free technical support.
Ironkey D500S

D500S is FIPS 140-3 Level 3* certified and incorporates new NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) enhancements that require secure updates to the microprocessor for increased security and protection against attacks in government and military use. The drive self-tests during boot and includes protection against temperature and voltage changes, allowing it to automatically shut down when it reaches a certain threshold. It is water, dust, shock, and vibration resistant according to military standards, as well as impact resistant and sealed with epoxy resin. The robust zinc casing of the D500S protects the internal components against physical tampering attacks.
The multiple password option with Complex or Passphrase mode allows users to take ownership of their data, making it easier to remember the password to unlock the rigorous security. The administrator can reset the user password and enable a one-time recovery password to restore access if the user forgets it. Both the administrator and the user can set up a session-based read-only mode to protect the drive against malware on untrusted systems.
Additionally, the administrator can set up a global read-only mode until access is restored. To prevent data from falling into the wrong hands, the administrator can enter a cryptographic erase password that will destroy the data and reprogram the drive to prevent unauthorized access in risky situations.
“The need for data protection is growing as breaches due to cloud intrusions, pirated software encryption, or lost USB drives become more common. Sensitive data requires the strongest military-grade protection available on hardware-encrypted drives that can be physically protected from the Internet while safeguarding data in transit and at rest,” said Richard Kanadjian, global director of the IronKey business at Kingston.
In this way, Kingston reiterates its commitment to offering secure memory and storage solutions that meet the highest quality standards to satisfy the different needs of end consumers, as well as at the government and industry level.
