The video game market continues to experience impressive growth worldwide. According to the latest report from consulting firm Newzoo, the global games market is expected to generate revenues of USD 190 billion this year, with more than 3.3 billion players around the world. Latin America is not far behind, with a year-on-year growth of 6.1% in the number of players. In this context of expansion and on the eve of Gamer’s Day, celebrated on August 29, Kingston announces a major achievement: Kingston FURY, its line of gamer memory and SSDs, has seen a 20% increase in the number of units shipped this year in the region.
Jean-Pierre Cecillon, Regional Director SSA (Spanish South America) at Kingston, stated: “The gaming market in the region continues to bring good news. This year it is growing after the pause experienced in 2022. So far in 2023, we have already accumulated 20% more units shipped.” Cecillon highlighted that countries like Uruguay and Colombia are leading this growth, while Peru stands out in terms of total volume.
PC or Console
The Newzoo report reveals that 50% of gamers are multiplatform, confirming that the decision between PC and console remains crucial for users. The console will be the largest driver of revenue growth in 2023, with a year-on-year increase of 7.4%. If you add console, PC, and mobile, the global games market will generate annual revenues of USD 212.4 billion by 2026.
Kingston highlights among the advantages of PC the ability to upgrade hardware to support graphics that improve year after year. The latest high-end games require 16 GB or even 32 GB of RAM for an exceptional experience. Kingston offers different solutions for those looking to optimize their setup, including Kingston FURY memory and SSDs with higher capacity. In contrast, consoles are usually closed systems with less frequent upgrades.
Other advantages of PCs are that games are easily accessible through fast downloads and a wide range of online titles. In addition, PCs have the advantage of being compatible with most games for this platform, with the right tools and drivers installed.
On the other hand, consoles offer the advantage of not requiring hardware upgrades and provide consistent performance. Kingston highlights its Kingston FURY Renegade SSD with heatsink as an ideal upgrade for PS5 owners.
Whether you are a professional preparing for an important tournament, a streamer with legions of followers, or simply someone who plays with friends, Kingston has a suitable hardware solution to enhance everyone’s experience.
On Gamer’s Day, Kingston reaffirms its commitment to the gaming community, offering high-quality products that boost performance and fun in the world of video games.
