To protect information from leaks or hacker attacks, Kingston offers the IronKey line, with products suitable for different types of users.
Latin America is one of the regions with the most data breaches in the world, according to a survey conducted by Tenable, a U.S.-based cybersecurity firm. The most affected by these attacks are governments and the financial sector. The main cause of data breaches is ransomware-like attacks, one of the threats that most affected companies last year.
The problem is caused by the lack of adequate protection for company databases, especially during data transfer. To prevent these incidents, the best approach is to use hardware encryption, which can incorporate both software encryption and device-level encryption. “Kingston’s encrypted products are designed to protect users from any unauthorized access and are impossible to access without the password. The entire IronKey line is certified by the U.S. government, demonstrating its efficiency in data protection,” explains Oscar Martínez, Technology Manager at Kingston for Mexico and Central America.
Products like the IronKey Vault Privacy 80 external SSD or IronKey VaultPrivacy USB drives are recommended to ensure companies comply with data protection and transit laws.
IronKey Vault Privacy Encrypted USB Drives
With simple measures, Kingston’s encrypted IronKey line can prevent users or companies from suffering the damage that exposure of valuable information can cause. Kingston values that “investment in data protection must be part not only of a company’s organizational culture but also a concern for users.”
The IronKey Vault Privacy USB line includes drives from 8 GB to 256 GB with hardware encryption, meaning you must enter a password using a compatible computer or device.
IronKey Keypad 200 Pendrive
To ensure flexibility and data protection in transit, the IronKey 200 keypad is the ideal solution. With 256-bit XTS-AES hardware-based encryption, the USB drive features an alphanumeric keypad independent of the operating system and a built-in rechargeable battery: users can only access it with a PIN password, no software needed. To avoid any risk, if the admin PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, the KP200 has built-in protection that will wipe the drive, permanently destroying all information and resetting the device. The product is available in capacities from 8GB to 128GB.
IronKey Vault Privacy 80 Encrypted External SSD
Small and medium-sized businesses and/or content creators who transport large amounts of data can rely on IronKey Vault Privacy 80 to store important information, documents, videos, and high-resolution images, as the device has an intuitive data transfer system. The external SSD protects against brute force and BadUSB attacks with digitally signed firmware: if there is an intrusion attempt and data is entered incorrectly 15 times, it encrypts and wipes the entire drive. In addition, its system provides superior data protection compared to using the Internet and cloud services. This product offers capacities of 480 GB, 960 GB, and 1.92 TB.
External storage provides an important layer of protection against costly data breaches. Organizations with data in transit, external service applications, and mobile workforces are wise to implement a robust data security strategy at all levels of their workforce. Encryption is an important element in any infrastructure design to safeguard data security.
